In the face of globalization art could go into oblivion if measures are not effectively taken to prevent such situation. It is therefore vital to bring art very close to immediate environment, thereby giving a level of identity to producers and consumers. A meaningful art must have creativity and concept associated with an environment for national development. According to Uche Okeke (1978:13) technology without design rooted in people's experience is meaningless and inconsequential. In this regard Igbo-ukwu art could be highlighted with national development as may be so with other environments. Igbo-ukwu excavated objects have some remarkable characteristics associated with them:- rich, delicate, sophisticated, (Nkwo 1974:178). In the light of these qualities, the said objects would be adapted on contemporary art works of textile, sculpture, graphics, ceramics etc. Igbo people in particular and the nation in general would want to identify with such works, thereby attaching high value to them.
