This research work surveyed the degree of Control and Usage of Vehicle Fire Extinguisher drivers in Anambra State. The descriptive research design of the survey type was used for work. The population consisted of all the drivers in Awka South, Aguata, Onitsha North and Ogbaru Local Government Areas of the State. The model comprises 400 motorists from 24 garages in Awka South and three other local government areas. Stratified proportional random sampling was utilized to select the sample for the study. One self-designed questionnaire, tagged “Degree of Possession and use of Automobile Fire Extinguisher(DPUAFE) was used to collect the necessary data for the study. Percentage scores were used to analyze the data collected. Research experts in the Department of Educational Foundation of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, endorsed the tool with the aid of test-retest method. It was established that the degree of possession and use of an automobile fire extinguisher by drivers in Anambra State is very pitiable. It was suggested that the Federal Road Safety Corps should arrange suitable training or seminars for drivers on the possession and use of fire extinguisher. They should also double their efforts in checking the motorist whether they possess fire extinguisher or not besides other relevant materials. Automobile fire extinguisher should be made to be forcibly fitted to all vehicles by the government; this will prevent the problem associated with the possession and use of the accessible one that is generally used.
