In time past, quality education has been propagated for by educational scholars, teachers and parents. This is because quality education is the key to success in any occupation or trade. In this view, the library is posited to support this aim by providing library services and information resources to the students that will aid their learning and performance. Hence, poor funding to the academic libraries will spell doom for the achievement of quality education in Nigeria. This paper x-rayed funding academic libraries for quality education in Nigeria. The paper discusses the concept of funding, quality education, and academic libraries. It also discusses funding interventions in academic libraries that can improve quality education. There were also discussions on the issues of funding in academic libraries towards quality education. Implications of inadequate funding of academic libraries to quality education were discussed as well as the suggestions for increased funding for academic libraries towards quality education. The paper concluded that there is the need to improve on the quality education in Nigeria’s tertiary institution through adequate funding for the academic libraries which is seen as a hub for the improvement of academic standards and learning. Good funding for academic libraries will, of course, be a plus for the level of quality education in the Nigerian educational system. Recommendations were that the government should make an effort to improve academic libraries funding by implementing fully and adopting the policy of 10% allocation to the academic libraries in Nigeria
