A learning system based on formalized teaching but with the help of electronic resources is known as E-learning. While teaching can be based in or out of the classrooms, the use of computers and the Internet form the major component of e-learning. Over the years, Internet-based online teaching and learning has grown tremendously. This is necessary as a result of immense benefits derived from using online platforms for learning. No one has ever predicted this COVID-19 pandemic, and if there was, no one thought of its severity would stretch the world this far. Covid-19 has brought a paradigm shift to our ways of life, including teaching and learning. Developed countries have been tapping the potentials of online platforms, especially for education, advertisement, conference, etc. However, Nigeria is yet to fully harness the potentials of electronic /online platform for our educational system. In this paper, we harnessed some of the applications, benefits, and problems associated with e-learning. We concluded that the Federal Government, through its ministries and agencies, should show political will towards this necessity. Since we have to learn to live with Covid-19 for a while, we should also change our mindsets towards embracing technological innovations.
