One of the tenets of English for Specific Purposes (BSH) is content and language teachers" collaborative teaching. The aim is to develop in students an ability to handle the oral and written English that they will be concerned with as an integral part of their specialist subjects. This approach recognises that learning a language is not merely a matter of learning sentence patterns and vocabulary but must also involve an understanding of how people use these linguistic forms in order to communicate. This paper aims to examine what Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) is all about. The paper also illustrates the use of English in Agriculture teaching.
